Emping or kripik (small krupuk) is a side dish that looks like Krupuk . It is made of the almost ripe, peeled Melinjo Nuts which are flattened with a special hammer and then dried in the sun. Before it can be consumed, emping is baked in oil for 2 to 5 seconds.

Emping has a slightly bitter taste, no flour added and no salt, it has a natural sweetness that you want to go on eating.
